Major (Retired) Dirk Barnes LLM MBA PJSC EM

Major Dirk Barnes is a former military leader with more than 30 years of experience in security, operations, and emergency management. A Sandhurst-trained officer and university graduate, he combines tactical expertise with business leadership to drive innovation in modern protection and recovery services.

Since founding Air Support Tactical Security Ltd, Major Barnes has focused on building solutions that combine advanced technology, real time monitoring, and operational excellence to help protect vehicles, assets, and people. He is a graduate of Anglia Ruskin University having achieved a Masters in Business Adminstration and a Master of Laws (Cyber Security and Digital Law)

Laurella Henry-Barnes serves as Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Human Resource Manager of Air Support Tactical Security Limited. She has been part of the company since its inception and plays a strategic role in executive decision-making, organizational planning, employee support, and the continued development of the company’s internal systems.

Mrs. Henry-Barnes holds a Master of Business Administration in Human Resource Management from the University of Bedfordshire, along with certifications in leadership and industrial relations. With more than 20 years of professional experience, she began her career in aviation security with a prominent international carrier, where she advanced through several leadership roles before bringing her corporate and operational experience to ASTSL. Her approach to human resource management focuses on developing employees in alignment with the company’s strategic objectives through education, professional development, employee benefits, recognition programmes, and the responsible use of artificial intelligence to improve efficiency.

CHIEF OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY

Major (Retired) Roger Best BSc (Hons), LLB (Hons), MBA, PGDip Homeland Security, AMBCI, ED

Roger Best is a senior corporate security, risk, operations, and governance executive with more than 35 years of leadership experience across national security, intelligence operations, crisis management, special operations, and organizational governance. A Sandhurst-trained former military officer, he brings a rare combination of command discipline, strategic thinking, legal knowledge, business education, psychology, homeland security, and operational leadership to complex security environments.

Throughout his career, Major Best has held several senior appointments within the Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force and the national security sector. These include Director of the Strategic Services Agency, Deputy Director Operations and Organised Crime, Chief Operations Officer, Commander of the Direct Action Tactical Squadron, and senior operations and training roles at Defence Force Headquarters. His experience spans tactical command, intelligence-led operations, multi-agency coordination, policy development, and executive-level decision support.

His background supports the company’s continued development in corporate protection, risk management, operational planning, crisis response, and governance.
