Battery Charging

Why a wall block is better than a power bank

-
Stable current – A wall charger delivers a constant 5 V output, so the tracker’s battery-management circuit can charge at its optimal rate.
-
Full top-off – Many power banks shut down automatically when the current draw falls below a threshold; the tracker may stop charging before it reaches 100 %, reducing runtime.
-
No calibration errors – Irregular trickle-charging from power banks can confuse the device’s battery gauge, leading to false “low-battery” alerts.

Quick Tips for Best Battery Life

-
Avoid fast-charge bricks (> 5 V or “Quick-Charge” logos); they can overheat the battery.
-
Charge at least once every 3 weeks even if the tracker is idle, to keep the lithium-ion cells in good health.
-
Keep it cool – charge in a shaded, well-ventilated spot; extreme heat shortens battery lifespan.
-
Fully recharge after every recovery event when continuous tracking drains the battery faster.
